About VH Designs

VH Designs is a Chicago-based event design company with over three decades of experience. We are focused on making our clients’ vision come to life, and making every experience we touch meaningful, memorable, and special.

Your first meeting with VH Designs is a fun-filled discussion of concepts, ideas and themes. Together we dream up a unique concept for your wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, gala, birthday party or any special event and then we make it come true! The overall vision is incorporated into the setting, including décor, flowers, color palette, table settings, and much more.

Our boutique event design firm caters to one-of-a-kind parties and events. We are committed to creativity, transparency, and excellent execution.

Meet our team:

Vince Hart - Lead Event Designer

Vince Hart_ Chicago DesignerAfter working for major event companies for over 30 years, the opportunity to branch out on my own was too good to pass up. Having my own company allows my creativity to shine while also shaping every aspect of the event design process. For our clients, no project is too small, as we do intimate parties as well as 500 person events.

Each event is one of a kind, completely unique and personally designed by me. My favorite part of the event is working with each family and making their dreams become a reality.

I live and breathe the art of event design. My passion stems from my love of floral, art and architecture. At the age of two, I received “My Big Book of Flowers,” which remains one of my favorite books today.

Aside from all things floral, I am incredibly passionate about Chicago and all that the amazing city has to offer. I often find inspiration for my designs while I travel down Lake Shore Drive. I love giving back to the Chicago community and I am involved in several organizations like the Goodman Theatre and Lakeview Pantry.

“I love making parties. It’s my life. It’s my oxygen.” -Vince Hart

I am constantly on the lookout for what’s on trend as well as appreciating classic design. A fashion guy at heart, I often turn to fashion and interior design for what colors, styles and moods are relevant, and incorporate those concepts into my designs in new and unique ways.

With a wild imagination and a passion to explore the world, I am always pushing the limits of event design to bring the most creative visions to life.

Kara Wintz

Kara Wintz

Director of Operations

Kara has been with the business since it first began when it was just her and Vince. Now she runs everything behind the scenes from accounting to operations. You can still find her at events leading the team and bringing the dream to life! When she isn’t working, Kara enjoys hanging out with her dog, Gibson, and riding her horse, Chester.

Kirsten Abrahamson

Kirsten Abrahamson

Head of Production

If Vince is the person that creates the vision, Kirsten brings it to life. With over 20 years in the industry, there isn’t much Kristen can’t do. From creating floral arrangements to applying graphics and everything in between, she can do it all. When Kirsten isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Bill, and their adorable dog Watson.

Dana

Dana

Studio Manager

After years of running her own equine business, Dana made the switch to join our team. She keeps our studio organized and everyone on task. She also loves spending time driving around in VANessa, so look out for her on the road! During her time off, Dana likes to bring home old event props for her crazy cats, Morty and Fred, and go to concerts with her husband, Jake.

Emma

Emma

Event Coordinator

If you have talked to us, you probably talked to Emma. She is the one who keeps the events (and Vince!) organized. She will likely be your contact for everything related to your event and is your go-to-girl for all your questions. As a bonus, Emma also knows the best places in town for Happy Hour or Brunch!

Pam

Pam

It is hard to give Pam one job title because the role she fills for us is so diverse. You may meet her in your first appointment (she takes the BEST notes), catch her in back making floral pieces or helping Dana with inventory. Pam is also the undisputed Work Mom of the company, giving the best advice and keeping spirits high around the studio.
